Tecumseh Tennis Club

Club to re-open on May 22, 2021

The Ontario government has announced that outdoor and recreational activities, including tennis, can re-open this weekend. The Board of Directors is pleased to let Members know that the Club will be re-opening on Saturday, May 22. Note that we are still awaiting information from the City of Mississauga on the specific COVID rules regarding tennis play. In the meantime, please remember the following:

  • Physical distancing must be maintained at all times while at the Club;
  • Wear a mask when you arrive and keep it on unless you are on the courts;
  • No Guests are allowed at the Club;
  • The courts will be open 7 days a week between 7:00 am and 11:00 pm.  Please do not access the Club outside of these hours.

Lessons and Programs
The Club’s Tennis Director, Steve Theodoropoulos, will be sending out an email to Members directly with information on the lessons and programs he will offer for the season and how to register.  The information can also be found on the Club website.  Note that once lessons and programs begin, Court 4 will be reserved for Steve’s use.

Court Booking
Thanks to everyone who provided feedback on whether to implement an online court booking system for the Club. The Board has reviewed the feedback and is putting together a plan that will allow online court booking for one court and have the remaining courts available on a first come first serve basis. We expect to implement this hybrid approach sometime next month and will provide more information at that time.

Shoe Tag Policy
As a reminder, the shoe tags that you received after joining the Club must be worn on the courts at all times.  Steve Theodoropoulos will be monitoring the courts on behalf of the Board to ensure only Members are accessing the Club. Please remember to put your shoe tags on your tennis shoes!

The Board is excited to welcome back Club Members and we look forward to seeing everyone on the courts again.
